Investing in Portland Duplexes

Portland duplexes are very popular because they offer a lot of flexibility for investors and for owner occupants. In Portland we have side-by-side one story duplexes, up/down duplexes, vintage duplexes and more.

We work with a lot of owners who buy a duplex to live in one side and rent the other to "house hack" and offset their mortgage. If one half is already rented when you buy it some mortgage brokers will even let you apply that amount to your income to help you qualify.

We have other clients who buy a duplex so they can put one or both of the units onto AirBNB, VRBO or some other nightly rental service.
